Tips for Tightwads (The Frugal Friends):

Choose the rooms with the most beds, and book 2 to a bed. You'll talk and laugh all night and hardly sleep anyway, so fill up the room. Even with the $25 per person fee for each person over 2 in a room, it lowers the total cost per person a lot.

The family. We are a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.
- Dinah Mulock Craik
Fate chooses our relatives, we choose our friends.
-
Jacques Delille
Thank You, Friend. I never came to you, my friend, and went away without some new enrichment of the heart; More faith and less of doubt, more courage in the days ahead. And often in great need coming to you, I went away comforted indeed. How can I find the shining word, the glowing phrase that tells all that your love has meant to me, all that your friendship spells? There is no word, no phrase for you on whom I so depend. All I can say to you is this, God bless you precious friend.
- Grace Noll Crowell
