The Lotus Blossom Bedroom
To the East, the Orient beckons adventurers, those travelers desiring an elegant stay in the red dawn of the Rising Sun. Asian-themed, the Lotus Blossom evokes a classic sense of timeless traditions, preserved in style by the 1895 Tarlton House.
At the top of the stairs to the third floor, the door opens to a land far away in the Pacific Rim. Bamboo seating is a traditional high-back chair, roomy and comfortable, coordinated with a matching settee. On the wall is a map of Japan, published in 1895.
Additionally, a sketch by the artist, Matsutani, of the Meiji Period (1868-1912), is of Kahoshima Harbor . It is an authentic and rare antique Japanese print, published by Toyodo Publishing on November 29, 1894. |
